My name is Malep and I live in a village in Cameroon. We live in a round house mostly made of wood with grass on the roof. We have animals to look after such as chickens, goats and sheep. I like to go to school to play with the computer, learn about other countries and how other children live. We like to go to church to sing songs and learn about Jesus. Mostly it is sunny here so when it rains we are happy as lots of flowers grow and the animals like to have water to drink. Some of them wallow in it. Good crops grow to give us food. I like to make things at home with scrap bits and pieces. I think you may like to make a rainforest pencil pot.

Here are the instructions.

  • Cover large yogurt pot with green tissue paper.
  • Cut several 6cm circles of the paper. Scrunch up and flatten a little. Paint yellow centre in each flower head and stick around the pot.
  • Cut out green leaves and stick around the flowers.
  • Using green and red pipe cleaners make snakes with coloured markings and stick between the flowers.
  • Finally add small coloured feathers and parts of feathers to look like birds and insects

Hello, my name is Kerflick and I live in the capital called Douala. I like to go to school and look forward to playtime because we boys love to play football. Cameroon, our national team, is the best in Africa and we have played in the World Cup. Lots of my friends want to be professional footballers. Some of our national team get to play in England. I like to go to church as we can play our drums and other musical instruments we have made, as we join the singing “Praise God who made us”. You may like to play my “Football Frenzy” game. Which player scores the goal?
